doppler radar in the baltimore metro area around the beltway. we did have a few little spritses moving through. that dissipated. there is shower activity to the south. nothing significant showing up so far. more could pop up today. it doesn't look like there will be a lot. let's look at what's going on right now. cloudy skies. our view downtown, things beginning to brighten up. it looks a little hazy out there. 48 degrees. 51. the barometer has fallen off. northeast winds at 7 miles per hour. it has been a mild month. the average temperature has been 53.8 degrees. way out of sync with what usually happens. precipitation not the same story. just over 2 inches below normal. we didn't get much snow. this isn't a lot of rain. if we keep up this relatively dry pattern, it is not going to be much. salisbury 52. chestertown 48. westminster 45. frederick 41 degrees right now. our satellite radar combination, that band of showers south of baltimore which is right up here. most of the rain is down to the south. a low in north carolina. also a low in penns

so just some high, thin clouds here in the baltimore area. quiet weather 30 degrees at the airport. 36 at the inner harbor. humidity 36%. not a terribly moist atmosphere. during the day, we will raise that number. 30, 30 the pair metric pressure. winds at the minute calm. predominant winds more easterly. the approaching moisture from the west, plus a developing easterly, or northeasterly wind will bring moisture in here. and then eventually as precipitation. a45 in annapolis. frederick 30. hagerstown 34. 32 out of oakland. 25 at frostburg now. there you see the thin clouds overhead. the clouds get a little heavier along with the moisture out in ohio. and michigan and indiana. then it changes to snow out in iowa. the storm center itself is in missouri and northern arkansas. it will be tracking toward the ohio river valley, then just to the south of us over the next 24 to 36 hours. so this high pressure that's giving us the nice weather now will be moving out of the way so that this can come into the picture. we won't be getting the heavy snows

we were stuck in the 40's up here around baltimore. once you got south of annapolis, it was in the 60's and 70's, and in virginia as well. and in the northern temperatures, there were severe storms down around southern maryland and the lower eastern shore. here's what things look like now. the cold front is going through. we are not seeing rain on the radar, we are seeing snow. lake-effect snows and snow showers coming out of the great lakes and out of indiana and ohio. it is streaming into the mountains now. forecasts for the showers and the mountains. we could later today see a couple flurries be pushed into our area. there are a couple areas pushed into hagerstown. at the moment, we have clear skies and 39 degrees at the airport. inner harbor 43. the breeze is kicking along at 10 miles per hour, stronger gusts. overnight we have had gusts up to 26 on tv hill. it keeps the air stirred up, and temperatures won't fall too much farther tonight. the barometer is low. it is rising. it was, when the storm was going through, 29.35 or someth

this is day 11 of baltimore's heat wave and it is not over yet. for more on the dangerous conditions, let's check in with meteorologist john collins and john, it's just going to be a scorcher. >> in addition to just the numerical heat, today will be the hottest of the bunch. just about everybody will hit 100 or a little warmer. it's the humidity and i don't know if you were out yesterday. you might have been able to tell the difference. yesterday, we had a little break in the humidity and that 99 we hit for the high was a little more tolerable than the 97 the previous day or the 99 the previous day when it was more humid. the dew point temperatures are around 70 this morning. yesterday morning at this time, they were around 60. that makes a big difference. the air temperature right now, the actual air temperature at the airport is 76 degrees. humidity is up. barometer is down. southwest wind at 3 miles an hour and temperatures elsewhere around the area this morning, well, they show readings in the upper 70's. it's almost 80 up at points to the wes
